Nesta última quarta-feira (11/08), a MTV anunciou os indicados ao Video Music Awards 2021 (VMA), que ocorrerá no dia 12 de setembro deste ano. Os líderes de indicações foi Justin Bieber, com sete indicações, e Megan Three Stallion, com seis. 

O cantor canadense foi anunciado como a primeira atração musical do Rock in Rio, ao lado de Demi Lovato, em 2022. Outros artistas que também obtiveram cinco indicações foram Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, BTS, Drake, Lil Nas X e os estreantes no prêmio Giveon e Olivia Rodrigo.
