A 59ª edição do Gammy Awards 2017 marca a disputa entre Beyoncé e Adele nas principais categorias. Com 20 Grammys acumulados até o ano passado e suas nove indicações, Beyoncé tinha a chance de bater o recorde de artista com o maior número de prêmios, ultrapassando Alison Krauss (27).
O Grammy escalou 17 shows para entreter a audiência. Foram convidados a se apresentar:
.Adele, que abriu a noite cantando 'Hello'. Mais tarde ela voltou ao palco para cantar 'Fast love', em homenagem a George Michael, mas errou e interrompeu a canção logo nos primeiros segundos. Pediu desculpas pelo erro e por ter soltado um palavrão e voltou a cantar, terminando emocionada.
A performance incendiária da noite foi de Lady Gaga, ao lado do Metallica, que contornou até o fato de um dos microfones estar desligado.
